Seasoned Character Rigger David Hunt worked as part of the team that recently shipped Halo 3. In this MasterClass, David will offer an in-depth look at how Bungie used Autodesk Maya to overcome multiple animation and character rigging challenges in the making of Halo 3.
Using examples from this title, David will illustrate how the Maya MetaRigging Toolkit makes it easier for non-technical people to work in Autodesk Maya and how MEL Script systems were used by his team to set up procedural rigging and custom animation tools. This class will offer a glimpse under the hood at the highly efficient character development pipeline deployed by Bungie to achieve such a large-scale title, along with a look into the future of rigging tapping the new layer system in Autodesk Maya 2009.
Conducted like a seminar, this MasterClass is ideal for technical directors and animators with proficiency in Autodesk Maya. However, this session will also be of interest to artists with lower levels of technical expertise.
A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all participants for this MasterClass. Seats are limited.
